  1. Please watch the attached demonstrations of how to use and calculate each skill.
  2. There is then a selection of links to practice tasks for you to have a go at on slide 10.
  3. Once you have then completed this, you are to complete the Applied Tasks on Slide 12
After you have completed this presentation I will upload the geometry skills with applied tasks.
You will then have a practice task using both measurement and geometry skills.

The assessment for this unit on the Commonwealth Games will be creating a scale diagram of the track and field stadium using basic and compound shapes with accurate measurements.
You may choose to do this using an online tool, a hand drawn diagram or a 3D model.

PPDAC

TASK 1: PROBLEM

Create a question for your statistical investigation.

Think of it as a SMART GOAL.

  • It must have two variables (things you are investigating)
  • It must be measurable
  • It must be something you can realistically collect information on

TASK 2: PLAN
  • How can you find this information?
  • Who is your target group? ( year level, school, community)
  • How will you collect a big enough sample? (at least 30 pieces of data)
  • How will you collect the data? (google form, experiment etc)
  • How will you record the data? (Table, chart, spreadsheet etc)
Create your questions, experiment, and target group you plan to  ask.
Draw up a table and chart for your results.

You need to submit this part of your PPDAC to the google classroom, then you may start collecting your data.

Numeracy Task 1

Numeracy Task 1

Your tasks have been set for the Numeracy tasks are in the google slide below.  Remember that in our class we believe that everyone will develop their own learner agency!

For these activities you will need to show how you can be a
"Lifelong Learner"
I am self aware, I set achievable goals, manage my time effectively, I plan my learning and can evaluate my own learning and the learning of others.

Work your way through the activities that are on the google slide - develop your own strategies for being able to stay on task and free from distractions.

The first two rows are to be completed in this block.

The Statistics workbook is to be completed over the coming weeks to assist with collecting data, sorting and interpreting data for your project.

Good luck
